It has been observed that the effect of Cyclone Vayu has been milder at most of the airports of Gujarat. No damage to any airport infrastructure or facilities has been reported so far. The situation is normal at Surat, Bhuj, Keshod, Kandla, Jamnagar, Vadodara and Ahmedabad.

Diu, Porbandar and Bhavnagar airports that are currently witnessing a wind speed between 30 to 40 km/hr gusting up to 60 km/hr have been asked to closely monitor the situation and take note of meteorological data.

The next review meeting will be held in the afternoon on June 13, following which further action on flight reviews will be taken.

On June 12, keeping safety in mind and in order to minimise damage to the airport infrastructure and to avoid inconvenience to any of stakeholders including passengers, AAI had decided to suspend flight operations at AAI airports in Porbandar, Diu, Bhavnagar, Keshod and Kandla from 12 midnight on June 12 till 12 am midnight on June 13.

Equipment and heavy machinery has been moved to safety at respective airports and the airport directors of AAI's Bhuj and Jamnagar airports have been asked to write to the Indian Air Force to suspend operations of civil flights from these two airports also.
