AAI chairman Guruprasad Mohapatra appointed secretary of DPIIT
July 25, 2019: Airports Authority of India (AAI) chairman has been appointed the first class secretary, department of industry and internal trade (now called department for promotion of industry and internal trade), in the ministry of commerce.
Mohapatra was appointed chairman of AAI in July 2016.
July 25, 2019: Airports Authority of India (AAI) chairman has been appointed the first class secretary, department of industry and internal trade (now called department for promotion of industry and internal trade), in the ministry of commerce. He will take charge from August 1. However, details of who will replace him at AAI are yet to be known.
In the department for promotion of industry and internal trade (DPIIT), Mohapatra replaces Ramesh Abhishek, who is superannuating on July 31.
The appointment is part of prime minister Narendra Modi’s first cabinet shuffle after the BJP government returned to power for a second term.
Mohapatra was appointed chairman of AAI in July 2016. Before joining AAI, he worked as a joint secretary in the department of commerce in the government of India.
