AAI to develop inter-regional hub in Guwahati
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is developing Guwahati Airport as an inter-regional hub, while Agartala, Dibrugarh and Imphal airports are being developed as intra-regional hubs in the North eastern region.

August 02, 2017: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is developing Guwahati Airport as an inter-regional hub, while Agartala, Dibrugarh and Imphal airports are being developed as intra-regional hubs in the North eastern region.
AAI has constructed three hangars at Guwahati Airport as part of the programme. Construction of hangars has commenced at Dibrugarh and Imphal airports, and tenders have been floated for the award of work for construction of a hangar at Agartala airport.
This information was given by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha.
