At the seventh edition of the Global Pharma Logistics Summit (GPLS) in Mumbai on August 22, 2024, Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur, Vice President Supply Chain Management at Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, launched his latest book, "Strategic Value Chains: Unlocking Business Success in the Digital Age." The event, organised by Indian Transport & Logistics News (ITLN), a STAT Media venture, was centered on the theme "Ownership Culture: Building Resilient Supply Chains in Pharma." 

The book offers insights into supply chain strategies, emphasising leadership and innovation in the digital era. Dr Mathur's book launch was a significant moment at the summit, with attendees keen to learn from his extensive experience in supply chain management. Following the launch, Dr Mathur engaged with the audience, signing copies and discussing the key concepts of his book.

Dr Mathur highlighted the influence of his 18-year tenure at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories on the development of "Strategic Value Chains." He credited the experiences and challenges faced during his time there for shaping the strategies and insights presented in the book. He also recognised Erez Israeli, CEO of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, for his leadership and strategic vision, which have significantly influenced the book's content.

In his keynote address, Dr Mathur expressed gratitude to the summit organisers, acknowledging the platform provided by ITLN to introduce his book. He also thanked Tushar Jani, Group Chairman at Cargo Service Centre, for supporting the book launch at GPLS 2024.

In the opening remarks, Jani also praised Dr Mathur's work and mentioned how his insights in the book can help young leaders of the supply-chain industry navigate the critical challenges of this sector.

Jani further added, “Let’s make ourselves champions. Let’s make our pharma industry the champion and show the world what India can do. A large amount of European pharma comes from India. Run from India, managed from India, and delivered to the world - we can do it. It’s not impossible.
