DHL Global Forwarding appoints Dinella Thakur as India air freight head
DHL Global Forwarding appointed Dinella Thakur as the vice president of air freight in India starting November 2023
DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) appointed Dinella Thakur as the new vice president of air freight in India starting November 2023.
In this role, Thakur will manage and further develop the company’s India airfreight business activities in accordance with the group business strategy and local business environment. Based in Mumbai, her key responsibility would be to optimize the business assets and guide the team towards the achievement of the financial targets in line with their budgets.
Thakur will directly report to Edwin Pinto, managing director of DGF India, and will have a dotted line reporting to Narayanankutty K, vice president – Air Freight of DGF South Asia.
Prior to joining DGF, Thakur was the head of procurement and pricing (air freight) - Asia Pacific at CEVA Logistics. She has also worked in a variety of roles for companies such as Qatar Airways, Agility, Etihad Cargo, British Airways World Cargo and Lufthansa Cargo.
Meanwhile, Narayanankutty K was promoted to a new and bigger role as vice president airfreight, DGF South Asia. In his new role, he will report directly to Niki Frank, CEO South Asia for DGF, and will have a dotted reporting line to Steffen Treiber, SVP Airfreight, DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific. Narayanankutty K will continue to be based in Chennai, India.
Besides Thakur, other heads of airfreight who will have a dotted line reporting to Kutty include Suminda Hettiarachchi (Sri Lanka), Mawaddat Chowdhury (Bangladesh) and Talha Hassan (Pakistan).
