Shadowfax launches distribution centre in Port Blair
With this launch, Shadowfax will expand network to over 15,000 pincodes & aims to reach 100% pincodes by March 2025
Shadowfax announced the opening of its inaugural hub and distribution centre in Port Blair, another milestone in its journey to reach 100 percent, or almost 20,000 pincodes of India, by March 2025.
Shadowfax, which recently raised $100 million from TPG NewQuest and others, has seen its market share rising from six percent in early 2023 to 17 percent today, says an official release. "The surge in market share can be credited to Shadowfax's unparalleled speed and cost-efficiency, made possible by its innovative mesh network design – which operates almost 2,000+ daily trucks and 200+ airline lanes to connect 3,000+ last mile hubs."
E-commerce enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, marketplaces and the island's residents can anticipate a comprehensive suite of services, spanning from reverse logistics to express delivery from the Port Blair centre, the release added.
"This milestone marks a pivotal moment in Shadowfax's mission to connect every town and village, in the remotest part of the country, into our network – delivering new age solutions to every customer," says Abhishek Bansal, Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer, Shadowfax. "Port Blair holds immense importance in India's landscape, and we are thrilled to bring our unparalleled logistics expertise to its citizens."
Founded in 2015 by a team of IIT-Delhi alumni including Bansal, Vaibhav Khandelwal, Praharsh Chandra and Gaurav Jaithliya, Shadowfax's network includes 125,000 monthly active delivery partners and 3.5 million registered users, the release added.
