In a significant move to enhance cargo handling efficiency, Adani Gangavaram Port, India's deepest port, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Railway Crew Lobby. The facility, launched on December 24, 2024, at the port's R&D yard, features a modern Crew Management System (CMS) to streamline operations.

The Railway Crew Lobby was inaugurated by Shri. Manoj Kumar Sahoo, DRM, Waltair Division, East Coast Railway, in the presence of the CEO of Adani Gangavaram Port and senior officials from the port and railway sector. The facility includes a dedicated Crew Controller Office and well-equipped restrooms with amenities for both male and female railway employees.

This strategic investment aims to significantly enhance cargo handling, storage, and dispatch operations. By enabling railway crews to directly take charge of loaded trains from the port's Receipt and Dispatch yard, the facility will minimise delays, increase crew availability and mobility, and ensure the safe and timely movement of goods across the network.

According to Adani Gangavaram Port Limited management, the inauguration of the Railway Crew Lobby marks a vital moment in their commitment to operational excellence and the well-being of their valued railway crew. The facility demonstrates their dedication to enhancing safety, comfort, and efficiency within their operations.

The management stated, "By providing a modern and well-equipped space for our crew to rest and prepare, we empower them to perform at their best, ensuring the safe and timely movement of goods across our network. This investment underscores our unwavering focus on continuous improvement and our commitment to playing a vital role in India's thriving logistics sector."
