The 20th edition of SmartCards Expo - India’s only trade fair on smart card technology and its application, received an overwhelming response from the industry. During the three day event, more than 100 exhibitors and their representing companies from 8 countries showcased the technological advancements in the identification, security and digital payments industry.
SmartCards Expo was acquired by Messe Muenchen India along with co-located trade fairs - IoT India Expo, e-Security Expo, RFID India, Biometrics India, e-Payments India and Mobile Payments India in April 2018 and it was the debut edition under them.
Some of the leading companies from the world displayed the latest solutions related to RFID, biometrics, e-payments, artificial intelligence, e-security and mobile payments for the growing domestic market.
For the first time, in co-ordination with DCB Bank, 30 start-ups participated and demonstrated innovative solutions at the ‘Innovation Zone’ - a platform curated for promoting the start-up eco-system, which was highly appreciated and well attended by the industry.
“The quality of participation that we have witnessed in the last three days is a testimony to our optimistic growth stories in the years to come. The trade fairs were a huge accomplishment and echoes its significant alignment to the business requirements of the user community. We are glad that the exhibition pooled in the best of the technology suppliers; catering to the key sourcing requirements discussed at the buyer seller forum,” said Bhupinder Singh, CEO, Messe Muenchen India.
The trade fairs garnered industry wide attention and presence of over 2500 business visitors from the application industries including banks & financial institutions, retail, government & PSUs, transport & logistics, telecom, healthcare etc. The trade fairs also received appreciation accredited to its line-up of supporting programs.
The show opened with ‘IoT Summit’, which garnered the presence of esteemed industry leaders and lead discussions on the potential of IoT in re-shaping interactions with the real and virtual worlds and subsequently, integrating them.
DCB Innovation Carnival and Start-up Awards - organised by DCB Bank, was an initiative to promote the development of financial technologies for the banking and financial sector along with its customers, for innovations in lending, risk management, trading, investing, big-data, retail banking and digital payments.
On the second day, Indian Express Group organised ‘Smart Technology Summit’ that brought together the thought leaders in the country sharing their journey of digital transformation, and their lessons from successful e-governance project. The group also organised ‘Digital Leader Awards for Excellence’, recognising and felicitating the best projects implemented by governments and PSUs.
The Buyer Seller forum provided ample scope for networking and generated massive interest and participation. Top decision makers conducted over 300 face-to-face meetings with exhibitors and were able to align their requirements with the expected technological implementation, thus planning their long-term business objectives.
The 21st edition of SmartCards Expo will take place from September 25 to 27, 2019 at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida. The trade fairs will be co-located with ‘electronica India’ and ‘productronica India’, which are India’s leading trade fairs for electronic components and production technologies.
