BMCT extends free storage period for all import containers by 3 days
March 23, 2020: Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals (BMCT) at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) announced an extension in the free storage period for all import containers by three days till March 31, as importers are finding it difficult to evacuate containers from the terminal due to a shortage of drivers and resources.
March 23, 2020: Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals (BMCT) operated by Singapore’s PSA International Pte at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) announced an extension in the free storage period for all import containers by three days till March 31 as importers are finding it difficult to evacuate containers from the terminal due to a shortage of drivers and resources.
“With the COVID-19 situation, many users are currently facing difficulties in arranging transport to evacuate containers from our terminal due to a shortage of manpower and resources. To assist the trade and end-users, BMCT is extending the free storage period of all import containers, laden and empty, for an additional 3 days until March 31, 2020,” says BMCT in a letter to its customers.
