September 9, 2021: Container xChange, world’s largest neutral platform for leasing and buying shipping containers has announced the third edition of its annual networking conference - Digital Container Summit (DCS) scheduled for September 15-16, 2021. Owing to the pandemic, the event is being organized as a virtual summit to engage, educate and network.

Dr. Johannes Schlingmeier, founder and CEO at xChange, said, “Hundreds of container logistics companies' signup to DCS every year to grow their partner network and make deals. The shipping industry is witnessing disruption and one of the biggest disruptive forces is digitalization. The strength of DCS has been the participation of different players from across the globe and the fact that it helps companies grow their business. DCS and at a broader level xChange, depicts the future strategies that companies can adopt – flexibility, digitalization and economies of scale.”

The key tracks during the two power-packed days will include workshops on container trading market, market outlook, container leasing market overview, and the emergence of digitalization and newer technologies in the container logistics industry. The speakership panel is the key attraction for the attendees. Key speakers include Ralf Belusa - Hapag-Lloyd, Christian Leopold - CHS Container, Lars Jensen - Vespucci Maritime, Eric Johnson - JOC.com, Patrik Berglund – Xeneta.

Christian Roeloffs, cofounder and CEO at xChange, said, “The development of technology has massively disrupted the shipping and container logistic industry which accounts for 100 percent of whatever we consume. The pandemic has transformed consumer habits and aspirations, and the direct impact of this shift is being witnessed in the shipping and logistics industry. We welcome you to attend the event and spend these two days to immerse into the possibilities and the opportunities that the current times and the future hold for the container logistics industry.”

For the industry, this event brings the possibility of discovering business partnership opportunities with a truly international set of potential clients and partners virtually. Last year 300+ companies attended the event and more than 98% of the scheduled meetings have happened. On average, each participant was able to conduct 8 meetings per day. The DCS is a global event, and the attendees will be able to talk to container logistics professionals from all continents.
