Flipkart to set up its 3-mn-sqft largest fulfilment centre at Manesar

October 8, 2020: Flipkart on Wednesday announced that it will set up its largest fulfilment centre on 140-acre land Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) in Gurgaon-Manesar Region, Haryana with 3 million square feet space.

October 8, 2020: Flipkart on Wednesday announced that it will set up its largest fulfilment centre on a 140-acre land of Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) in Gurgaon-Manesar Region, Haryana with 3 million square feet space. The land has been allotted at bare shell cost of ₹3.09 crore per acre.

“HSIIDC is pleased to allot 140 acres of land to Flipkart group for setting up their largest fulfilling centre with 3 million sq.ft. in Manesar. It will help create thousands of local jobs and boost market access for lakhs of sellers and MSMEs,” noted HSIIDC tweet.

In view of the increasing demand of warehousing from e-commerce companies, HSIIDC has set up a warehousing hub over an area 285 acres in Patli Hazipur, Manesar.

Logistics park
Flipkart Group informed that they will be setting up a logistics park in the said land parcel over the next 3 to 5 years which has a potential of a total built-up area of 5 million square feet and shall be developed in 2 -3 phases. The first phase of the project shall be operational by 2022. The sustainable development of the park is expected to cost more than 3500 crore in capital investment and shall create more than 12000 jobs in the State over these years and boost the infrastructure for the sellers, MSMEs, Women Entrepreneurs from the State and the region.

Flipkart already has 12 supply chain assets in Haryana, including supply chain infrastructure for large appliances, non-large (including mobiles, apparel), grocery and furniture.

The chief minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar tweeted“HSIIDC’s land approval for Flipkart group’s largest fulfilling centre in Manesar is a significant step for boosting economic growth in the state. It will certainly create innumerable job opportunities for the youth and boost the economy.”
