FM Logistic sets up base in Vietnam to support client

September 18, 2017: FM Logistic is setting up base in Vietnam to support its customer- Auchan Retail, as part of its development strategy in Asia’s developing countries under its "Ambition 2022" strategic plan.

In order to support its customer’s development plan in Vietnam, FM Logistic has launched a 5000 square metre tri-temperature logistics site in Bắc Ninh - 20 km from Hanoi. This site will supply all Auchan stores in the northern half of the country.

In parallel, the local team is preparing the setup of a new site in Ho Chi Minh City planned in 2018.

"Setting up a modern logistics system will allow us to have products more readily available in our stores and guarantee a high-quality cold chain" states Christian Autié, Efficiency Director of Auchan Retail in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Stéphane Descarpentries, Director of Operations in Asia for FM Logistic explains, "In line with group strategy, our objective is to become one of the leading logistics providers on the Vietnamese market by 2020 and to develop collaborative solutions, creating added-value for our customers."

Vietnam has one of the strongest economic growth rates in South-East Asia. Urbanisation, the development of retail and e-commerce will accelerate the professionalization of logistics.
