Kerry Indev invests Rs 500 cr in its last mile delivery products
May 04, 2019: Kerry Indev Logistics, a global end-to-end supply chain solutions company, has launched eight last-mile delivery services under the Kerry Indev Express brand in Mumbai. The total investment will be Rs 500 crores in a couple of years; first phase to begin with Rs 100 crores.

May 04, 2019: Kerry Indev Logistics, a global end-to-end supply chain solutions company, has launched eight last-mile delivery services under the Kerry Indev Express brand in Mumbai. The total investment will be Rs 500 crores in a couple of years; and the first phase will begin with Rs 100 crores.
S. Xavier Britto, chairman, Kerry Indev Logistics, noted, "India has been over a period of time developing all the logistics services under one roof. Our idea is to combine the courier and parcel service to satisfy the requirements of the ecommerce companies. The growth of ecommerce, mergers and acquisitions, mobile usage, and also the penetration of the internet have contributed to the growth of this industry. Today, the logistics industry is growing very rapidly and year-on-year growth is expected at 15 percent to touch $250 billion by 2025."
Reporting a Rs. 1,500 crore turnover in 2018, the company's express products include, Same Day Express, Early Express, Priority Package Express, Priority Freight Express - Air, Priority Freight Express - Surface, E-Commerce Business Express, Warehousing Solution Express, and Critical Solutions Express. Kerry Indev Express, a door-to-door express service will operate through 200 service centres pan-India.

With the new investment, Kerry Indev has planned three strategies to be fulfilled within two years - opening up new procurement centres, vehicles for milk-run, and increasing to 6,000 pincodes from the present 3,000 being catered. The company is planning to foray into Bangladesh for electronics goods.
Britto promoted Indev Logistics which has been providing end-to-end shipping related services across India for more than three decades entered into a joint venture with Kerry Logistics, Hong Kong in 2010. Ten years ago, Indev entered into a partnership with Kerry by holding 30 percent stake, and eventually increased it to 50 percent in 2016.
