September 3, 2019: Unit Load Device (ULD) firm Unilode Aviation Solutions has announced that Lee Gainsbury, ULD ops manager Europe, has decided to leave Unilode to pursue alternative opportunities.

Stephen Gillies, head of ULD Management EMEA, issued a statement saying that Gainsbury will leave his role on September 6.

Thanking Gainsbury for his contribution to the company, Gillies said, “I’d like to thank Lee for his efforts during his short time with us. He further informed that a successor will be appointed in due course.

“In the meantime, Jerry George, Geeta Hitchings, Sue Ridgley, Sara Bouali and Bruno Abrantes will report directly to me,” added Gillies.

Last month, the company announced that it has completed in-flight trial of its ULD tracking solution. Unilode and its ULD digitisation strategic partner OnAsset Intelligence tested smart-phone app which allows tracking of its Bluetooth equipped ULDs by connecting to an aircraft's commercial Wi-Fi network.

Further, the company has signed contract with digitised supply chain solutions firm Nexxiot, to digitise the entire Unilode fleet within the next 18 months.
