APM Terminals Pipavav and Welspun Group sign MoU to explore opportunities for development of green hydrogen facilities
APM Terminals Pipavav signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to develop a complete green hydrogen ecosystem and develop port infrastructure at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.
Green hydrogen, produced from water and renewable energy, can replace fossil fuels such as natural gas in industrial processes, as a transport fuel, as a sustainable industrial raw material and as energy storage to replace batteries, says an official release from APM Terminals.
MoU details:
Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) - infrastructure development
APM Terminals Pipavav and GMB signed an MoU to facilitate permissions for the construction of liquid berth, container berth and a yard, container handling equipment and marine infrastructure development at Pipavav Port, estimated to cost Rs 3,320 crore.
Welspun - green hydrogen collaboration
APM Terminals Pipavav and Welspun Group signed an MoU to explore opportunities for the development of green hydrogen facilities at land provided by the port. The collaboration will target export/domestic usage through various models.
