DP World, a leading global provider of smart end-to-end supply chain logistics, has launched a new rail linked container freight station (CFS) in Hazira, Gujarat.

"The state-of-the-art facility is expected to enhance the region's trade and logistics efficiency, benefiting both local and international businesses," says an official release.

The CFS is capable of handling up to 36,000 containers annually, the release added. "The facility is equipped with advanced technology and security systems as well as specialised equipment for handling various types of cargo, including perishables and hazardous materials. The world class CFS will boost economic growth and competitiveness, as well as help drive overall logistics efficiencies in the region."

The CFS will serve as a hub for consolidating and deconsolidating cargo, facilitating customs clearance, and providing warehousing and distribution services. It will offer value-added services such as labelling, repackaging and quality control, the release added.
