Magenta teams up with Switch Mobility to acquire 500 Switch IeV4
500 units of Switch IeV4 will be procured by Magenta Mobility over a two-year period.
In a significant move towards enhancing the efficiency of the logistics sector, Magenta Mobility, an integrated electric mobility solutions provider, and Switch Mobility, the electric vehicle division of the Hinduja Group, have announced a strategic partnership. Both companies have signed an MoU, under this collaboration, Magenta Mobility will procure 500 Switch IeV4 (Intelligent EV) units over a two-year period.
The announcement was marked by a key handover and vehicle flag-off conducted by Maxson Lewis, Founder & CEO of Magenta Mobility, and Mahesh Babu, CEO of Switch Mobility.
"We are thrilled to join hands with Switch Mobility to accelerate our commitment to decarbonize logistics in India. This collaboration underscores our unwavering dedication to spearheading the transition toward safe, smart, and sustainable mobility solutions. With these electric light commercial vehicles (eLCVs), we will be able to offer an increased payload capacity to our clients. Combined with our existing fleet management, charging, and technology platforms, we will be offering a strong opportunity for the logistics sector to go electric. This is just the beginning of our association and together, we aim to redefine the future of logistics in India,’’ says Maxson Lewis, Founder & CEO of Magenta Mobility.
Switch IeV4 is an intelligent eLCV with a 32.2 kWh battery and a 1700 kg payload capacity. It offers a spacious cargo area and delivers a 120 km range for safe, comfortable, and efficient operations. Its 60 kW motor and 230 Nm torque provide strong performance. The Switch iON system - a proprietary, connected technology telematics solution helps businesses achieve smarter and more cost-effective fleet operations. These specifications align with Magenta Mobility's growth plans for FY 24-25 to strengthen the eLCV segment. This collaboration also marks a crucial step towards Magenta Mobility's ambitious goal of the 'Ab Ki Baar Dus Hazaar' program, aiming to deploy 10,000 electric vehicles by September 2025, mentions the official release.
Through this partnership, Magenta Mobility aims to leverage Switch Mobility's expertise in commercial electric vehicles to improve its last-mile and mid-mile intra-city operations for clients across India. By integrating Switch Mobility's advanced electric vehicle technology with Magenta Mobility's wide-ranging service portfolio of logistics, charging infrastructure, and technology solutions, this collaboration is set to establish major standards in the EV logistics and transportation sector, the release added.
