With shrinking attention spans and growing impatience, convenience is now king. E-commerce has already transformed shopping—bringing everything from groceries to giant TVs straight to people’s doorsteps. But what if everything could be delivered in just 10 minutes?
That’s exactly what quick commerce has done—fast-forwarding e-commerce into the future. Initially, it was all about groceries. Forgot a key spice while cooking? Ran out of milk? Apps like Zepto, Blinkit, and Swiggy Instamart became lifesavers, delivering essentials within minutes.
But the race to dominate hyperlocal commerce hasn’t been easy. Reliance-backed Dunzo shut down operations this year, proving that not every player can survive the pressure of instant delivery. Meanwhile, the surviving platforms are pushing boundaries. We’ve already seen 10-minute fashion deliveries, and during the iPhone 16 launch, people could order and receive a brand-new phone in just 10 minutes.
Now, Zepto is redefining quick commerce yet again—bringing test drives to your doorstep!
Zepto & Škoda: Test drive a Škoda Kylaq in 10 minutes
Think of a quick-commerce delivery person. You imagine them riding a bicycle, an electric scooter, or maybe a motorbike, right?
Now, imagine them pulling up in a Škoda Kylaq at your doorstep—for a test drive—in just 10 minutes!
Yes, you read that right. Zepto has partnered with Škoda Auto India to offer hyperfast car test drives. This means that instead of visiting a showroom, waiting for availability, or scheduling a test drive days in advance, potential customers can now experience the Škoda Kylaq almost instantly.
What’s the deal?
Zepto announced its 10-minute test drive service via a LinkedIn post, teasing its new offering. While there were initial speculations that Zepto might deliver cars in 10 minutes, the company clarified that they are not delivering cars in 10 minutes.
However, the company confirmed that customers can book a test drive of the Škoda Kylaq starting February 8, 2025, making it the “fastest and most convenient way” to experience a new car.
A game changer for car buying?
This partnership between Zepto and Škoda signals a potential shift in how vehicles are sold in India. Traditionally, car buying is a lengthy process—visiting a showroom, waiting for a test drive, going through paperwork, and securing financing. But what if quick commerce could simplify this?
If successful, this model could redefine the Indian auto retail experience, catering to a tech-savvy, convenience-driven audience who prefers speed over traditional dealership visits.
What’s next?
While the current offering is limited to the Škoda Kylaq, there are hints that Zepto may expand this service to other Škoda models, including the Kushaq, Kodiaq, and Slavia.
One thing is clear: Quick commerce is no longer just about groceries. If Zepto and Škoda can make 10-minute test drives a reality, who knows what’s next? 10-minute car financing? 10-minute vehicle purchases?
The future of hyperfast commerce is here—and it’s arriving at your doorstep, one test drive at a time.
