May 24, 2019: The Lufthansa Group’s newly launched help alliance America made an official kick-off at the Broward Outreach Center in Hollywood, Florida. The centre provides homeless people in the region with counseling services, provides meals and allows them to lead a more independent life.
A subsidiary of the main aid organization, help alliance Americas will be involved in social projects for the disadvantaged people. Its goal is “to engage in a structured manner in North and South America, thus gradually expanding the social commitment of the Lufthansa Group”, said a statement.
At the Broward Outreach Center, patron of the help alliance Vivian Spohr and employees of the Lufthansa Group and the project team help alliance Americas relocated plant beds, distributed food and packed 1,000 hygiene sets, which were distributed directly to the beneficiaries.
“We are very excited about the enthusiasm and motivation that the help alliance is generating in the Americas region. The help alliance was launched 20 years ago as an employee initiative. Together with the employees of the Lufthansa Group, we want to develop into a worldwide movement that provides support and advice in the areas of education, work and income. Our goal is to help people to lead a successful and self-determined life,” said Andrea Pernkopf, CEO of help alliance.
