Ready your plan to store, supply Covid vaccine by Oct 15: Centre to states

October 3, 2020: The ministry of health and family welfare of India has written to all states to get ready, prepare and come out with a plan for the delivery, supply and cold storage of a potential Covid-19 vaccine before October 15, 2020.

“The Health Secretary at the Ministry of health and family welfare has written to Secretaries of all states and National Health Mission Directors, immunisation officers and state cold chain officers to devise a plan for the robust mechanism for the storage of vaccines and maintenance of the cold chain,” reports News 18.

The letter talks about cold chain gear repairing, rationalisation of the cold chain supply pattern and preparing an alternate plan to deal with cold chain emergencies along with the recording and reporting procedures.
