January 21, 2020: Reliance retail is searching for thousands of store spaces between 500 square feet and 1,500 feet to set up small grocery stores called Reliance Smart Points across the country and particularly in and around cities.

“Reliance Retail is aggressively ramping up a new network of grocery stores that will also be used for last-mile delivery of food and grocery as part of the Mumbai conglomerate’s ambitious omnichannel venture,” reports Economic Times.

The search for not-so-prime with lower rentals around residential neighbourhoods is expected to continue for the next three to four months. Meanwhile, Reliance has already opened 18 such smaller avatars of supermarket chains selling grocery and pharmacy at Navi Mumbai, Kalyan and Thane.
