Skyways 2.0 is more aggressive, socially responsible: Yashpal Sharma

September 6, 2019: The 36th annual meet of Skyways Group witnessed the revamp of the group with a new brand slogan and anthem ― ‘Moving with You’.

The annual meet was held at Hotel Radisson Blu Plaza in New Delhi from August 8-10. It also commemorated the company’s 37th Founders' Day on August 8. The event saw over 350 employees participating from across the offices.

Speaking at the event, Yashpal Sharma, managing director of the group, said, “We are now seeing a new Skyways. The ‘Skyways 2.0’ is more aggressive and more socially responsible.”

His address also highlighted Welfare Trust Scheme launched by the group along with emphasising on continuing the customer centric outlook of the group to facilitate new business plans, processes and infrastructure.

Among those who attended and spoke at the meet were: Capt. Sanjeev Rishi – Promoter, Sanjvik Terminals; Burak Omeroglu - VP cargo sales MESA region, Turkish Airlines; Dr Pawan Agrawal, founder & president, Kamalabai Educational and Charitable Trust, Mumbai; Saurabh Kanwar, co-founder ATKT; Sasi Nair, senior area general manager – North India ,CMA CGM; John Livingstone, founder, CEO & product architect, Johnette Technologies Pvt. Ltd, with Pancham Hariramani, managing partner, Talent Square as moderator.

Capt. Rishi spoke about how a country can reduce logistics cost compared to global standards, the role hinterland connectivity and the role it plays in India in bringing efficiency to the supply chains of India.

Speaking about CMA CGM, Nair introduced the Traxens technology for smart containers that show real time data & notifications about movement and condition of the cargo at any given point of time and how Forin container line can be made more efficient through the use of this equipment.

Livingstone delved into the use of drones in the logistics industry both in rural and urban landscapes. “The avenues drones provide can play a very important role in the logistics industry and its future,” he said, explaining how Skyways Group’s new express and e-commerce product sKart can benefit from the use of the technology.
