Avishkar Hyperloop was India’s entry into the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition 2019 held on July 21. The team was one of top 21 out of 1,600 teams globally shortlisted into the finals.
“I want to congratulate Avishkar Hyperloop for coming this far in the competition. I hope they win and make India proud. We will be cheering for them when the results are announced in the next two days," said Geigel, who was impressed with the team's passion and the technical expertise.
Virgin Hyperloop One is keen on recruiting top talent from India’s premier engineering institutes, and will be visiting leading universities in Pune and Mumbai to present their plans for India. The company is waiting for the public procurement process for the Mumbai-Pune hyperloop project to be initiated.
Team TUM from the Technical University of Munich won the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition finals, achieving the top speed of 288 mph, breaking its own record from last year of 284 mph set during the third SpaceX student run-off.
