Zeal Global launches scholarship for 100 women

Poonam Mahajan, Member of Parliament, from the Mumbai North Central constituency announced the launch of the training programme on Day 2 of the three-day event, organised at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai's Santacruz.

Mahajan said the programme was a step forward towards gender neutrality. "I thank the Zeal Global team for this initiative. Their endeavour of achieving women's excellence in supply chain operations and the logistics industry will open new avenues for women. This shows that it's not about 'he' or 'she', rather it's about 'we'. Along with de-genderisation of roles in the logistics industry, technology has also enabled greater participation of women. Women now play an extremely important role in the logistics industry. The nation is making a good leap towards progress."

Mahajan, a trained commercial pilot, added, "As a pilot, we always need a lot of headroom. The country recently faced a lot of headwinds. This makes it more important to eradicate gender bias. Through programmes like these, you're enabling cruise control for us as women."

Currently, Zeal Global is in the process of selecting the first 100 women to offer diversified modules, which include a basic air cargo course, logistics and supply chain basics and e-commerce logistics components. The courses will cover the entire value chain of logistics and the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders with a detailed understanding of the e-commerce supply chain process flow, international commercial terms, documentation and a lot more. Moreover, it will also cover world geography, air, and sea routes, seaport and airports as part of the scholarship.

Undertaking this initiative, Zeal aims to raise awareness amongst women professionals in the air cargo industry by celebrating and promoting their achievements. Additionally, the vision is to provide them with an opportunity to speak at cargo and logistics forums while sharing the best practices and actionable points toward business growth.
