June 2, 2018: Twill, Damco’s digital freight forwarder will be launched in India from June 4 to provide its customers with greater control of shipments with its easy-to-use online platform that continuously evolves with customer needs.

Troels Stovring, CEO, Twill, said, “Document handling in shipping industry is very difficult with no standard customer service. For simplifying this, we have spent 20 weeks to develop Twill with the feedback from customers by identifying their pain points. Here, the booking process is designed to make shipping simple and it hardly takes 30 seconds to place a cargo booking. There will be dedicated customer care teams at each origin and destination country to make the process simple for customers.”

Twill’s initial launch was in the UK market last year and has received positive response from the customers. Today, it is present in nine countries and plans to spread its wings to 12 countries by the year end.

Commenting on the Indian market, he opines, “India has a large potential for expanding its logistics business. We have been interacting with the Indian customers to understand their needs and accordingly will be initiating Twill in this market. We have recognised that the Indian audience is more dynamic to try new methods.”
