August 21, 2020: The Gurgaon based electric last-mile delivery startup ZYPP Electric Mobility (formerly known as Mobycy) has delivered 5 lakh+ shipments for its customers in the last 4 months since the beginning of Covid-19 pandemic. Currently functional in 4 cities, ZYPP is also looking at going deeper into the existing markets and expanding to new 6-8 cities where there’s enormous demand coming in and become the largest e-delivery player in India.

ZYPP has partnered with e-commerce and e-grocery companies like Amazon, Big Basket, Future Group, Flipkart, Spencers and hyperlocal merchants to help them deliver essentials to their end customers homes. ZYPP aims at further strengthening its delivery and hyperlocal business and serve many more customers in the run who are wanting to move D2C or from offline to online (O2O) business models.

Akash Gupta, CEO and co-founder, ZYPP Electric Mobility, said, “eGrocery is growing at 30 percent CAGR in India and this is pre-Covid growth. Now post Covid-19, last-mile delivery is touching a new inflexion point and we as Zypp Electric are able to provide up to 20 percent savings to our customers on every delivery which is huge savings at scale in the logistics eco-system. Zypp Electric is here to disrupt the last mile ecosystem and would try and target 100 percent of last-mile logistics to go Electric by 2025 which is what Delhi EV policy also suggests. Zypp has worked aggressively in the last 12 months to build the fleet, the infra, the tech, has a network of trained riders and also all key partners already working with us. Hence, Covid-19 has acted as the moment of demonetization for last-mile deliveries.”

ZYPP Electric was established in 2017 by Akash Gupta and Rashi Agarwal. The start-up has raised a Pre-Series A Funding from IAN Fund late 2019with close to 1000 E-scooters running in the busy streets of Gurgaon, Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad.

KB Nagaraju, chief customer experience officer, Bigbasket, said, “Bigbasket is committed to providing the best possible services to customers and ensuring that deliveries are done in an environmentally sustainable yet timely manner. It is towards this end that we have partnered with Zypp to enable last-mile delivery services. We look forward to a long-term partnership and ensuring that bigbasketeers get the best of customer experience without any hassles."
