Angré Port handles 1,38,000 MT cargo amid lockdown

June 27, 2020: The all-weather port in the Konkan region Angré Port has handled 1,38,000 tonnes of different types of cargo since March 2020 amid lockdown.

The port handled 2,41,000 MT in the first half of 2020 and is aiming for 4,00,000 MT in H2 2020 considering post-Covid-19 forecasts.

June 27, 2020: The all-weather port in the Konkan region Angré Port has handled 1,38,000 tonnes of different types of cargo since March 2020 amid lockdown. The port, with its end-to-end logistics services, currently supports over 20 large and small local businesses across the state of Maharashtra, ranging from sugar, cement, manufacturing and industry raw materials.

The port handled 2,41,000 MT in the first half of 2020 and is aiming for 4,00,000 MT in H2 2020 considering post-Covid-19 forecasts.

Angré Port is also offering its 300 acres of industrial backup land on competitive lease models to strategic businesses such as mega warehouses, port-based industries, logistics, tank terminals, and business parks.

Since its commencement in 2019, Angré Port has built several capabilities including 500,000 square feet of open storage yards for receiving cargo, 200,000 square feet of covered warehousing space, and 100,000 square feet of paved open storage yards for handling sensitive cargo over extended periods of time. It also has over 32,000 Kilo Litre of liquid storage capacity. The recent strategic tie-up with Arjun Refineries at Angré, which is Konkan coast’s only port-based refinery, will add liquid cargo volumes to the port’s output.
