Hindustan Zinc to deploy LNG-powered trucks

India’s largest producer of Zinc, Lead & Silver, Hindustan Zinc, has chosen GreenLine Mobility Solutions (GreenLine), a part of Essar Group, as its sustainable logistics partner.

GreenLine will be investing ₹200 crore for deploying LNG-powered trucks for Hindustan Zinc’s road logistics operations.

Arun Misra, Hindustan Zinc: “Deployment of LNG Vehicle aligns with our approved SBTi targets to reduce 50% of absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions and further reduction of 25% of absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by FY2030 from the base year FY2020."

GreenLine’s LNG-powered trucks, manufactured by Blue Energy Motors, reduce toxic emission significantly compared to diesel – CO2 by upto 30%, SOx by upto 100%, NOx by upto 59%, Particulate Matter by upto 91% and CO by upto 70%.
