SpiceJet thus becomes the first Indian low-cost airline to operate flights to the United Kingdom. These flights will operate under the India-UK air bubble agreement. The airline will operate thrice-a-week to London including twice from Delhi and once-a-week from Mumbai.
Ajay Singh, chairman and managing director, SpiceJet, said, "We want to be an enabler of trade and commerce between India and the United Kingdom along with carrying passengers. Flights to Delhi and Mumbai leave at 7.30 pm in the evening from London and flights from India leave at 1.00 pm in the afternoon. So extremely convenient timings. We are not only connecting Mumbai and Delhi to London and the United Kingdom, but also SpiceJet's 54 stations in India to the UK.
SpiceJet in August 2020 operated long-haul cargo flights to Amsterdam and Frankfurt.
