GMR Hyderabad Air Cargo (GHAC) has secured the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) certification.

The certification underscores GHAC’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security in its operations and enhancing the security of the global supply chain, says an official release.

"CTPAT, a voluntary programme led by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is designed to strengthen the security of international trade by establishing a partnership between U.S. Customs and the trade community. The certification recognises companies that have implemented stringent security practices and procedures to safeguard the supply chain against terrorism and other threats. CTPAT-certified partners work with CBP to identify and address security vulnerabilities, implementing best practices in supply chain security."

Key Highlights:
*Reduced inspections and faster customs processing: As a CTPAT-certified facility, GHAC can expect fewer physical inspections and expedited processing times for goods traveling to the U.S, the release added. "This streamlined process enhances efficiency and ensures that shipments are handled more swiftly, benefiting both GHAC and its customers.

"Access to best practices and industry insights: GHAC will now have access to valuable resources and best practices from CBP, which will help further strengthen its operational security standards. The partnership ensures GHAC remains at the forefront of air cargo security, consistently meeting and exceeding industry requirements.

"Business growth: The CTPAT certification also opens up new opportunities for GHAC to expand its services to key markets, particularly the United States, where CTPAT-certified facilities are recognised as trusted partners in global trade."

Pradeep Panicker, CEO, GMR Hyderabad International Airport says: “The certification from CTPAT is a significant milestone for GHAC. This certification not only strengthens our security framework but also reinforces our commitment to providing world-class cargo services that meet the highest global standards. We look forward to continuing our work in creating a safe and efficient air cargo environment for our customers and partners.”
